Happy to meet you, I'm Dominique

Everyday I think to myself, How Lucky Are We?

Trusting Your Own Timeline

The Social Media Illusion

We live in a world where comparison is almost unavoidable. With a quick scroll, we can see friends getting engaged, celebrating new jobs, or traveling to places we’ve only dreamed about. We see graduation caps tossed into the air, first-day-of-work selfies, and anniversary dinners lit by candlelight. We see the highlight reels, but rarely the in-between moments—the struggles, the doubts, the quiet days where nothing “big” happens.

And yet, when we see so much life happening for others, it can be easy to feel like we’re somehow falling behind.

There Is No Universal Timeline

Here’s the truth: there’s no rulebook that says you must hit certain milestones by a certain age. Life is not a race, and we are not all meant to arrive at the same place at the same time.

Each of us has a path shaped by countless factors—where we grew up, how we grew up, the opportunities we were given, the setbacks we faced, and most importantly, the choices we made. Every single detail of your journey is unique, and because of that, your pace will be unique too.

Different Paths, Same Value

Sometimes that means your story unfolds differently from the people around you. Maybe your best friend is getting engaged while you’re just beginning a new relationship. Maybe someone you know is traveling the world while you’re focusing on building a stable routine at home. Maybe a former classmate is climbing the corporate ladder while you’re switching careers, starting over, or taking a leap into something uncertain.

None of those differences mean you are behind. They simply mean you are on your own timeline—one that is perfectly designed for you, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.

Life’s Many Seasons

It helps to remember that at any given moment, people around us are experiencing completely different seasons of life. One person is falling in love. Another is healing from heartbreak. One is welcoming a child into the world, while another is learning to live on their own for the first time.

Someone is chasing a dream job. Someone else is leaving one behind. All of these moments are equally real, equally important, and equally valid. They just happen in different orders, at different speeds, for different people.

Slowing Down to Appreciate the Present

The beauty of life is that it doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Your worth is not measured by how quickly you check off the boxes society expects you to. It’s measured by how you grow, how you love, and how you live in the moments you have.

Some chapters will be slow and steady; others will be full of change and movement. Both are necessary. Both are valuable.

You Are Right on Time

When we stop comparing, we give ourselves the gift of presence. We allow ourselves to fully live in our season instead of wishing it away. We learn to trust that things will unfold when they are meant to, even if the timing doesn’t match what we once imagined.

You are not late. You are not early. You are exactly where you are meant to be, right now.

So take a deep breath. Let go of the pressure to “catch up” to someone else’s life. Celebrate your small wins, honor your own journey, and remember that moving at your own pace is not just okay—it’s beautiful. The timing of your life is yours alone. Trust it.
