Sometimes inspiration doesn’t come from a big life moment.
Sometimes it comes from something small—like a pair of gloves.
My brother and I got these gloves for snowboarding. He saw online that you can order a pair of these gloves and customize them by drawing on them yourself, which is how this idea started. What started as a fun, creative thing turned into something bigger. These gloves ended up sparking this entire week’s blog post.
Not because they’re gloves—but because of what they represent.

The Beauty of Being Unique
When you really think about it, everything about us is different.
Our likes.
Our dislikes.
Our favorite colors.
Our hobbies.
Our interests.
Our style.
Our dream vacation spots.
The list goes on forever.
We all grow up in different environments, learn different lessons, and experience life in completely different ways. That’s not just normal—that’s what makes each of us unique.
If we were all the same, the world would be incredibly boring. There would be no curiosity, no meaningful conversations, no reason to want to learn about someone else’s story.
Everyone Has Something to Offer
I’ve always believed that every person has something to offer.
Truly—every person.
You can learn so much just by listening. Someone’s perspective, experiences, or way of thinking can open your mind in ways you never expected. Talking to people from different places, backgrounds, and walks of life is one of the most interesting parts of being human.
And yet, it feels like today we’re all quietly pushed to do the opposite.
When Fitting In Becomes the Goal
There’s so much pressure to:
- wear the same things
- like the same things
- want the same things
- live the same kind of life
Because fitting in is often labeled as “cool” or “normal.”
But here’s the truth: it’s also cool to be yourself.
It’s cool to know what you like—and why you like it.
It’s cool to not force yourself into trends that don’t feel like you.
It’s cool to stop justifying your interests to other people.
And it’s really cool to express yourself freely.
These Gloves, Explained
That’s what these gloves are to me—self-expression.
I drew the things that come to mind when I think about me:
- coffee
- working out
- traveling
- balance
- the idea of living free
And of course, the words that ground me every time I see them:
“How Lucky Are We.”
My brother and I started with the same gloves, but approached them differently. Same starting point, two different perspectives.
Just like life.
Living Free Looks Different for Everyone
Living free doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone.
For some people, it’s travel.
For others, it’s routine.
For some, it’s creativity.
For others, it’s stability.
There’s no single definition—and there doesn’t need to be.
What matters is allowing yourself to explore who you are without apology. Letting your interests evolve. Letting your personality show. Letting yourself be different without feeling like you need permission.
How Lucky Are We, Really?
How lucky are we to live in a world full of people who aren’t carbon copies of each other?
How lucky are we to learn, to listen, to connect, and to create?
How lucky are we to express ourselves—even on something as simple as a pair of gloves?
If this post sparked a thought, a realization, or even a quiet moment of reflection, then it did exactly what it was meant to do.
Because being yourself isn’t just okay—it’s the whole point.
