🌙 May 2025 Life Update: Calm, Chaos & Connection
Welcome to my very first monthly life update! I thought this would be a fun way to share a more personal side of my world behind How Lucky Are We. I’ve always enjoyed when people share bits of their real life online—it makes everything feel more human and relatable. So here’s mine: a mix of calm, chaos, travel, connection, and growth. Let’s dive into what May looked like for me.
May Highlights: Travel, Cabin Getaway, Family Time & Rock and Roll
May was a blend of everyday routine and spontaneous adventure. The beginning of the month felt calm and predictable, but the last two weeks were filled with travel, reconnection, and music that shook the floor.
I traveled to Dallas for a work training and finally met colleagues from other offices. That week was full of laughter and reminded me how much I enjoy connecting with new people and hearing their stories.
Later in the month, I spent a peaceful weekend at a cabin in the woods with my cousin, her boyfriend, my boyfriend, and some new friends. We had no plans, nowhere to be—and it was perfect. That kind of slow living is one of my favorite ways to reset.
Another highlight? Seeing AC/DC live in concert! I forgot how much I love the raw energy of live music. There’s something magical about thousands of people singing together, dancing, and feeling the beat in their chest. That kind of collective joy is something I’ll always chase.
We spent Mother’s Day at home this year, taking the time to truly appreciate everything my mom does for our family. She gives so much of herself—quietly, constantly, and without asking for anything in return. It felt good to slow down, celebrate her, and remind her just how deeply she’s loved and valued.
I closed out May in Tennessee with my family. Things slowed down again, and I had the chance to be present, unplugged, and truly grateful.
On top of everything, I reconnected with three different friends throughout the month—each on a separate occasion. Every conversation reminded me of the importance of maintaining friendships, even when life pulls us in different directions. It doesn’t take much to make someone feel remembered and loved.
What I Learned in May 2025
This month reminded me that connection is everything—and not just in big, emotional moments. Even quick chats, shared laughter, and new acquaintances can leave lasting impressions.
“There are so many people we haven’t met yet who will make a big impact on our lives.”
Whether through work, travel, music, or weekend getaways, May showed me how good it feels to step outside the routine and open up to new people and places.
Wins & Challenges
âś… Wins:
- I published my Hotworx blog post, and it became my most viewed post to date!
- I stepped outside my comfort zone by sharing my blog with more friends and family—a big personal win.
⚠️ Challenges:
- Staying consistent with workouts was tough while traveling.
- In Dallas, I made it to the hotel gym and one Hotworx class.
- In Tennessee, I had no gym access, so I relied on YouTube workout videos.
Changing environments can really disrupt routines. But I’m learning that rest isn’t regression—it’s a reset. Our bodies deserve compassion just as much as they deserve movement.
📸 Favorite May Moments

🌱 Looking Ahead to June
One thing I’m really looking forward to in June:
Spending a week on Anna Maria Island with my family and friends! 🌴
I can already feel the ocean breeze and hear the waves.
Once I’m back, I’m excited to return to a more familiar rhythm—refreshed, recharged, and ready for whatever the next month brings.
đź’¬ Your Turn
