Everyday I think to myself, How Lucky Are We?

Be More Afraid of Wasting Your Life Than Being Embarrassed

How many times have you stopped yourself from doing something because you were afraid of being embarrassed?

Maybe it was posting something online.
Speaking up in a room.
Starting something new.
Or even chasing a dream you’ve had for a long time.

Embarrassment feels uncomfortable. It feels personal. And in the moment, it can feel like the worst thing in the world.

But what’s actually worse?

Wasting your life.

The Fear That Holds Us Back

We spend so much time worrying about what other people will think.

Will they judge me?
Will they laugh?
Will they think I’m not good enough?

So instead of taking action, we wait.
We overthink.
We replay scenarios in our heads.

And slowly, without realizing it, we let fear make our decisions for us.

The truth is, when you let embarrassment control your actions, you are giving other people control over your life.

Embarrassment Is Temporary. Regret Lasts Longer.

Embarrassment fades.

That awkward moment? It passes.
That post you were nervous about? People scroll.
That thing you tried? It becomes a lesson.

But regret?

Regret stays.

The opportunities you didn’t take…
The things you didn’t try…
The version of yourself you never became…

Those are the things that linger.

Your Dreams Are Yours for a Reason

Your goals, your ideas, your passions—they were given to you.

Not to the people watching.
Not to the people judging.
Not to the people who don’t understand.

So why let them decide how far you go?

Not everyone will support you. That’s reality.
But not everyone is supposed to.

The right people will.

My Personal Experience: Starting This Blog

Even starting this blog was hard for me.

I wanted to do it for a long time. It felt exciting and meaningful. It was something I genuinely enjoyed.

But I kept holding back.

I sat on it for months.
I overthought every post.
I reread everything, wondering if it was “good enough.”

And honestly? I was embarrassed.

Embarrassed of what people might think.
Embarrassed that people might judge me.
Embarrassed that maybe no one would even care.

But here’s what I realized:

Even if only one person reads this…
Even if it’s just me who enjoys writing it…

It’s still worth it.

Stop Letting the Wrong People Have Power

The people you’re afraid of?

The ones judging, criticizing, or laughing?

They are not the people who are going to change your life for the better.

They are not the people building something meaningful.
They are not the people chasing growth.

So why give them so much power?

You should not be wasting your time, your energy, or your potential because of people who don’t support you.

The Right People Will Find You

When you start showing up as yourself, something shifts.

You grow.
You gain confidence.
You create momentum.

And along the way, the right people start to appear.

The ones who support you.
The ones who encourage you.
The ones who want to see you succeed.

You don’t need everyone.
You just need the right ones.

Choose Courage Over Comfort

At the end of the day, you have a choice.

You can stay comfortable.
You can avoid embarrassment.
You can play it safe.

Or…

You can take the risk.
You can put yourself out there.
You can build a life you’re proud of.

Because one day, you’ll look back.

And you won’t care about the moments you felt embarrassed.

You’ll care about whether you actually lived.

Final Thoughts

Be more afraid of wasting your life than being embarrassed.

Embarrassment is a moment.
Growth is a lifetime.

And your life is too important to live based on other people’s opinions.
