Happy to meet you, I'm Dominique

Everyday I think to myself, How Lucky Are We?

3 Must-See Attractions in Dallas, Texas

Yep, I’ve Been 3 Times—And I’d Go Back Again
1. Reunion Tower: A View You Won’t Forget

📍 300 Reunion Blvd E, Dallas, TX 75207

Reunion Tower is one of Dallas’s most iconic landmarks, and for good reason. The experience starts the moment you take the elevator up to the top, and the view? Absolutely stunning. You get a 360-degree look at the city—both from inside and outside. Yes, there’s even an outdoor wraparound deck where you can walk around and feel the breeze while taking it all in.

Inside, there are tables where you can sit and enjoy the skyline. It’s a relaxing spot that still feels exciting, especially if you’ve never been that high up before. For travelers like me who love trying new things, Reunion Tower was the perfect blend of “touristy” and “worth it.” If you’re into city views, this is a must-do.

2. The JFK Assassination Site: Standing Where History Changed

📍 Dealey Plaza, Dallas, TX 75202

One of the most powerful parts of my trip was visiting Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. It’s a strange, almost eerie feeling to stand on the grassy knoll and look over at the spot where history unfolded. On the street, there’s an “X” marking the exact spot where JFK was struck. Seeing it in person was surreal.

You can also look up and see the window from which Lee Harvey Oswald fired the shots—it’s a haunting detail that puts the whole story into perspective. I’ve read about this moment in history so many times, but actually being there felt entirely different. It made me think about how certain places carry echoes of the past, and how important it is to remember them.

If you’re someone who appreciates history, I highly recommend taking time to visit this spot. It’s heavy, but meaningful.

3. Hard Eight Pit BBQ: For the BBQ Lovers

📍 688 Freeport Pkwy, Coppell, TX 75019

Hard Eight Pit BBQ was such a cool experience. Right when you walk up, you’re greeted by a huge open pit filled with sizzling meats—and yes, it smells amazing. You choose what you want and how much, and they slice it fresh for you right there. Everything is weighed before you pay, so you can try a little bit of everything without being locked into a big plate.

I had the sweet potato fries on the side and they were really good—crispy and just the right amount of sweet. It’s a casual setup where you go through a line, pay, and then grab a seat to eat. No servers, just good food and a laid-back vibe. If you’re a BBQ fan (like me), this place is absolutely worth the stop.

Final Thoughts: Why I Keep Coming Back to Dallas

Dallas has this great balance of culture, history, and fun. Every time I visit, I find something new and something familiar—and I love that. Whether you’re into food, city views, or American history, this city has a way of surprising you in the best way.

These three stops—Reunion Tower, Dealey Plaza, and Hard Eight BBQ—really stood out to me on this trip. But honestly, Dallas has so much more to explore. If you’re planning a trip to Texas or looking for a new city to explore, I’d definitely recommend giving Dallas a few days. You won’t run out of things to do—and you might find yourself coming back again and again, just like I do.

✨ Quick Tips for Visiting Dallas:
